(b) Information knowingly provided by the user through our Services, such as contact, registration, or application forms. We may also use Internet cookies and other identifiers to gather, store, and track certain information related to your visit and activity on our Services. You can manage cookie preferences and privacy settings on your computer system or web browser.
To access certain content, features, services, products, or benefits on our Services, you may be required to provide certain information, including personally identifying information like your email, educational institution, business affiliation, address, and phone number. Opting out or using privacy features of your computer or web browser may limit your access to certain content or features.
2.1 INFORMATION PROVIDED BY YOU
In the course of using the Service (whether as a Candidate or Employer), we may require or otherwise collect information that identifies you as a specific individual and can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Information"). Examples of Personal Information include your name, email address, company address, billing address, and phone number.
When you register and join the Internset Services, you become a Member. If you have chosen not to register for our Services, you may access certain features as a "Visitor." This Agreement applies to both Members and Visitors.
If you link, connect, or login to your Internset account with a third-party service (e.g. Google, Apple), we receive certain information, such as your registration and profile information from that service. This information varies and is controlled by that service or as authorized by you via your privacy settings at that service.
If you use any of the paid (or Premium) features on Internset, we will also collect certain payment information, such as credit card or other financial account information, and billing address.
In order to use our Service(s), you will be asked to fill out information in your profile, such as your education, work experience, skills, photo, city or area, and endorsements. This profile information helps Students to get more from our Services, including helping employers and business opportunities find them. It's your choice whether to include sensitive information on your profile and to make that sensitive information public. Please do not post or add personal data to your profile that you would not want to be publicly available. If you choose not to fill out some compulsory information, you might not be able to access or use our Services partially or at all.
We may collect Personal Information, such as your date of birth or taxpayer identification number, to validate your identity or as may be required by law, such as to complete tax filings. We may request documents to verify this information, such as a copy of your government-issued identification or photo or a billing statement.
Work Submission for Virtual Internships
We may store the work that you have submitted, any feedback you provide on the program. The submitted work will not be shared by third-party unless stated otherwise. If any organization has partnered or collaborated with us to provide a particular virtual internship program, your work may be shared with them. In such a case, you will be prompted about the same during the enrolment in the program.
Biometric Identifiers or Service Interaction Information
We may collect Personal Information such as a photograph of your face, a selfie, or data about your interactions with the Service to verify your identity and to detect fraud, identity theft, or other misuse of your account through the use of facial recognition and other technologies. We may request documents to verify this information, such as a copy of your government-issued identification. From time to time, we may require you to take and submit an additional or updated image of your face for comparison to your government-issued identification. The biometric identifiers or information collected are used only for identity verification and platform security and use integrity purposes.
Video Interviews, Internship Agreements, and Proctoring
When applying to a Virtual Internship, candidates are required to give video interviews. Additionally, after selection, candidates are required to sign the Internship agreement. And lastly, during the virtual internship, candidates and their work are monitored through proctoring (screenshots or videos of their work) through third-party remote proctoring software.

We collect the following personal information from you about your contacts or friends: First name, last name, and email address when you provide it to us for the purpose of adding your contacts to a message room.
3. AUTOMATIC INFORMATION COLLECTION
When you engage with our Platform, your device automatically provides us with valuable information, enabling us to tailor and customize our responses to you. The data we collect through automated means generally includes technical details about your computer, such as your IP address or device identifier, the type of device you use, and the version of your operating system. Additionally, we may gather usage information and statistics related to your interactions with the Platform. This may include URLs of the web pages you visit, URLs of referring and exiting pages, page views, time spent on a page, number of clicks, platform type, location data (if you have enabled access to your location on your mobile device), and other relevant data about your usage of the Platform.
When you interact with messages through our Services, we collect relevant information to support and enhance your experience. For instance, if you are a Candidate and receive a message from an Employer, we track whether you have taken any action in response to that message and may send you reminders accordingly. Moreover, we utilize automatic scanning technology to assist with the management and enforcement of our User Agreement. This technology may suggest possible responses to messages and help manage or block content that violates our User Agreement.
To understand and improve your interactions with the Service, we may utilize software known as an Embedded Script. This programming code is designed to gather information about your engagements with the Service, such as the links you click on. The code is temporarily downloaded onto your computer or device and is deactivated or deleted upon disconnection from the Service.
4. USE OF INFORMATION
The information provided by you is employed in the following ways:

Compliance and Legal Obligations: At times, we may be required to disclose your information to comply with the law, respond to subpoenas or legal processes, or cooperate with government enforcement agencies. Additionally, we may disclose information if we have a good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action against suspected or actual illegal activities, to enforce our agreements with you, or to defend ourselves against third-party claims or allegations. Safeguarding the security and integrity of our Services is of utmost importance, and in situations where there may be similar threats faced by other entities, we may share information as part of our commitment to protecting the broader digital community. However, rest assured that we exercise discretion when responding to legal demands for personal data, striving to notify our Members about such requests when appropriate, unless prohibited by law, court order, or emergency circumstances. We may also challenge requests that we believe, in our discretion, are overbroad, vague, or lack proper authority, although we cannot guarantee that we will challenge every demand.
5. DATA RETENTION
At Internset, we believe in giving you full control over your personal data. As a result, we generally retain your information for as long as your account remains open or as necessary to provide you with our Services. This includes data provided by you or others and information generated or inferred from your use of our platform. Even if you use our Services occasionally, such as when seeking a new job every few years, we will maintain your profile and information, unless you choose to close your account.
We may choose to retain certain information, such as insights about Service usage, in a depersonalized or aggregated form, ensuring that individual identities remain protected.
We understand that privacy is a crucial aspect of your online experience, and we offer various options to manage the collection, use, and sharing of your data. For your convenience, you can:
Delete Data: If certain personal data is no longer necessary for the provision of Services, you have the right to request its deletion or erasure from our records.
Change or Correct Data: We provide you with the ability to edit some of your personal data directly through your account settings. If you find any inaccuracies or need specific updates, you can also request changes from our support team.
Object, Limit, or Restrict Data Use: You have the right to object to or restrict the use of your personal data under certain circumstances, such as when we no longer have a legal basis to process it or if the data is unlawfully held.
Right to Access and Obtain Your Data: You can request a copy of your personal data in a machine-readable form, giving you greater transparency and control over your information.
For more information on making these requests, please visit our Help Center or reach out to us through the provided contact information. Rest assured that we will handle your requests in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
If you decide to close your Internset account, your personal data will typically become invisible to other users on our Services within 24 hours. Furthermore, we usually delete closed account information within 30 days of account closure, with the exception of certain circumstances as outlined below.
We may retain your personal data even after account closure if reasonably necessary to meet legal obligations, respond to law enforcement requests, comply with regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse (such as in cases where an account has been restricted due to a breach of our Policies), enforce our User Agreement, or fulfill your request to "unsubscribe" from further communications.
In the interest of preserving privacy, we will retain de-personalized information after your account has been closed.
Please note that information you have shared with others through our messaging features, for example, will remain visible even after you close your account or delete the information from your profile or mailbox. Additionally, we do not have control over data that other Members may have copied from our Services. Your profile may also continue to appear in external services like search engine results until they refresh their cache.
